BAM offers you and your health care patient a window into the arts in all its forms. Between their three buildings, the Brooklyn Academy of Music hosts film, theatre, dance, music, opera, visual arts, literature, comedy, and lectures. BAM has some great pricing for some top-notch performances and Rose Cinemas is a great place to watch a classic or contemporary movie in the afternoon or the evening. Be sure to check their website for movie times, event schedules, hours, and ticket prices. Call ahead about wheelchair accessibility because some of their venues aren’t completely accessible. 718-636-4100.

Fort Greene Park:

Built on the former site of a Revolutionary War-era fort, the park is now a beautiful place that you and your home care patient will enjoy. The 30-acre green space is one of the oldest in New York City and is known for the Prison Ship Martyr’s Monument, which which honors the thousands who died on British prison ships during the Revolutionary War. The monument also holds a crypt underneath the structure.
