NY State COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate

NY State has mandated that all health care employees must receive a COVID-19 Vaccine Immunization by October 7, 2021.

We are committed to helping all of our employees receive a vaccinate immunization before this date. Please continue to read to learn who is required to get a vaccine and how you can get vaccinated.

Who must get the Vaccine?

All Edison Home Health Care employees that have interaction with consumers. This includes home health aides (HHAs), Personal Care Aides (PCAs), and Nurses. CDPAP personal assistants are not required to be vaccinated.

Are there any exceptions?

Employess that have a qualified Medical exemption are not required to have a vaccine.

What qualifies for a Medical exemption?

If a licensed physician or certified nurse practitioner certifies that immunization with COVID-19 vaccine is detrimental to your health, based upon a pre-existing health condition, you will not be required to have a vaccine. This exemption must be in accordance with generally accepted medical standards and is only applicable only until such immunization is found to no longer to be detrimental to your health. The nature and duration of the medical exemption must be stated explicitly by the licensed physician or certified nurse practitioner.
